Welcome to Kittiwake Cottage
......... minutes from the sea
Kittiwake is a traditional, stone, terraced Cornish cottage built in about 1870. It has a lovely long garden - a work in progress! - with Dracaena palms, gunnera and other 'Cornish' plants. There is a greenhouse, raised vegetable beds and fruit bushes and - if you come at the right time of year - there should be fruit and vegetables for you to enjoy, especially if you do some watering! We're eating lettuce, rocket, salad leaves, runners beans, tomatoes, chillis and courgettes at the moment (August). The cottage also has a large, lockable shed for bikes, boards and wetsuits with garden/beach toys and a mini-table football/snooker/ice hockey table. The garden has three seating areas, so you can enjoy the sun at any time of day. Parking is easy, with a dedicated space at the end of the back garden and room on Greenfield Terrace itself.
A few minutes' level walk brings you to the beautiful, sandy beach, ideal for surfing, swimming and beach-combing. Rock pools uncovered at low tide present lots of opportunities for children to explore and even to swim. At the end of Greenfield Terrace is a small park and just across the road at the back of the cottage is a children's playground.
All your every-day needs can be met in Portreath, with its pubs, cafés. restaurants, mini-supermarket, post office and bakery.
Kittiwake Cottage is advertised on theHomeAway site. Please check our entry formore details about the cottage.
